TODD Sneaks into the Emmy's

TODD makes it into the Emmy's. You may ask what or who is TODD. TODD is a 4 Wheel Cart Designed to Move around IHP's 1,300 pound Base Weights. It is a Hand Crank Lifting System that make it easy to Move around the Weights when there is no Fork-Lift around to use. In the photo below, you can see TODD under the bleachers with boxes on and around the dolly. It is that yellow 4 wheel dolly sitting under the bleachers.
TODD is the Yellow Dollie
We have a TODD 3 and a TODD 4. 3 stands for 3 sides and 4 is for 4 sides. In the Photo Below

you can see what TODD moves around. IHP's 1,300 pound Base Weights. In the photos the Base Weights are Double stacked and lifted off the ground using Scaffold Jacks. The Base Weights are 3' x 3' x 1' tall and designed to bolt 12" and 20.5" plated truss to. When doubled stacked, they are over around 2,500 pounds. You can stack 3 high, 4 high, 5 high or as high as you want. They bolt together with 1-1/4" all thread.

Give us a call at 702-631-4748 and let us discuss your need for weight close to the ground.

We have to say GoodBye to Several Friends

It is hard to say goodbye to friends.

It has been a long time that anything has been said in this blog. The reason for this is because a GOOD FRIEND and Colleague Eric Minton passed away this year. Eric was the one person that took care of this Blog, Facebook and IHP's Catalog.

I met Eric in Hawaii at the local stagehand union 665. At that time, some 10 years ago, he was the Secretary / Treasurer of Local 665. An old time stagehand traveling with Ice Capades, he found Hawaii, and stayed in Hawaii. He moved to Las Vegas around 2012. We stayed friends and colleagues. With the photos he took, the trains he talked about, it was a joy to sit and talk story with him as he had been a lot of places and done a lot.

Eric Minton will be missed.

I would also like to say Goodbye to Kyla. She didn't pass, just left IHP. It's never fun to have a friend leave the job as good friends are hard to come by. Kyla and Mark were a team at In-House Production, and in life. I hope they stay a team for a very very long time. Thanks for letting us at In-House Production be a part of your team.

May Life Take Care of You Both.

GROUND SUPPORT SYSTEM

When we at In-House Production comes up with a design and put together, We don't stop there. We climb all over it before we do anything with it. We are trying a new design for an outdoor event with towers and out-riggers. The first photo here is some of the guys that take part in the design as we work on something. As you look at the photos, you will some of the ideas we come up with.
The Shop Crew

As we started to put the leg together we decided to take some of our Hand Rails for our Decking, add a couple parts we had in the shop and come-up with Hand Rails (bike-racks). Free standing good looking barriers to keep those away from the free standing towers.
Hand-Rails used for Barriers

After taking IHP's 1300 pound Base Weight, bolt 20.5" truss to it, sliding on the sleeve block, install the head block, bolt on the horizontal truss to the sleeve block and lift the rig with 1 ton chain motor. When the horizontal truss was in the air, we add our out-riggers. When it was all up, we stood back and looked at the rig, We then take a scissor lift and went up to the center of the horizontal span and started shake the truss violently to see what happens all the way down to the ground,  also where the weak points are. This is where it becomes fun.

We have 2 legs and 50 foot span for lights only. This will work for that but if we added a video wall to the truss, we would need a lot more support.

Looking Down the Truss

Leg and all parts
After coming us with this, we are looking at a way to add our lifting unit to stand the truss up. Look for that in the near future.

With a little black paint and the out-riggers will become black. In the dark of the night the whole rig disappears and all you will see is the lights.

If you have comments, please let us know what they are as we at In-House Production like comments. If you want more information, give us a call or come by.

CARTS FOR PIPE & DRAPE BASE PLATES

Pipe and Drape BASE PLATE CART. We call them FLOPPY BASE STAND CART. I hope you are old enough to remember what a floppy disk is.

If you look at the Pipe & Drape Base Plates, and how the plates slid into their slots, it has the look of those OLD FLOPPY DISKS used with computers.

Floppy Base Stand for Pipe and Dra

Floppy Base Plate Carts are 30" x 30" and stackable. Add a slid-on Casters Wheels to the cart and they are ready to roll. Slid off the Casters and the Cart are ready to Stack. This one just came off the design and build work table.

STRUCTURE FOR A VIDEO WALL CLIMBING SYSTEM

What do you hang a 8 by 16 foot video wall from and have it 6' off the ground and only use a small foot print in a walkway next to a pool. A very large pool.

Ask In-House Production. With a custom design and build, we take all our erector set parts and other toys we have in stock and come up with some very safe and creative design.

All you do is take a rated tower truss system with some special parts and you have a video wall hanging system that give you 2 back legs.

All you do is start at the bottom and keep working up. At the end of the day, all you do is push 1 button and up the video wall goes.

When in Las Vegas, give In-House Production a call and we can help your design out
