PIPE INSERTS FOR 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" PIPE

In-House Production is that company that takes IDEAS from everywhere and makes them better. We make WIDGETS. Our new widget is a takeoff with a twist. We made it BETTER.

VIEW AS TO HOW IT WORKS
There are all kinds of ways to bring 2 pipe together, Some look bulky and add height to the pipe, some thread on the pipe and some go inside but need to be bolted through the insert and the pipe leaving bolt heads and nuts sticking outside the pipe. Bolting works great for that long term install where its there for years.

WHAT IT LOOK LIKE TOGETHER. NICE AND CLEAN
When it comes to that clean look for  Conventions or Trade Shows and Event, we have the answer. THE PIPE PECKER. A pipe insert that is able to take 2 pipes and put both together and make 1 pipe with the use of a 1/4" Allen Wrench. We have added 2 spring pins that hold both inter bars together so they can be used Vertical or Horizontal. This also keeps from becoming free and taking the chance of losing parts.

We have also designed 2 and 3 way corners to be used with the pipe peckers. We have designed with the idea of a 6" overall splice. This gives you a simple way when adding the length of pipe you will need.

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING / SAFETY FIRST

SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO SCRATCH YOUR HEAD AND SAY
                                      "WHAT WERE YOUR THINKING"
"OOPS" SAFETY FIRST (WHEN YOU REMEMBER)

What do you think happened? or do you have a good sayin?. Let us know.
  • Boss, I don't know what happened.
  • I had the ramp chain hooked on the trailer.
  • This was NOT my fault.
  • I did everything by the book.
  • It all happened so fast.
  • The trailer must have moved when I was in it.
  • Do we have to let the boss know what happened? do we?
  • Can we fix it before anyone knows?
  • I hope no-one saw it happen.
  • The ramp wasn't put on the trailer right.
  • The ramp must have broke.
  • The ramp slipped on me.
  • Someone was playing a trick on me and put the wheels down on the ramp.
  • I might have been going a little too fast backwards when I stopped on the ramp.
  • WOW what a "E" ticket ride.
  • I kept my hands and feet in the cage as I rode it down.
  • Will I have to take a drug test because of this?
  • I hope I have my forklift license on me.
  • I hope my forklift license has not expired.
  • Should I go get another forklift and keep working.
  • Can I sue the employer for not having a Safe Work Environment?

STAGEHAND LABOR AND CUSTOM RIGGING

Have you ever gone into a Building, Showroom, Casino, Convention Space or Lobby and wondered how they clean those hanging Chandeliers. So did management, at one of the showrooms in Las Vegas. They gave us at In-House Production a call and asked us to come down and look at rehanging their chandeliers. They wanted to lower the chandeliers for cleaning. We went to the catwalks to get a closer look at the chandeliers and how they were hanging. You could see the collection of dust from years of hanging with no attention. The showroom was never down long enough to install scaffolding all around the chandelier for cleaning. This is not a small chandelier. each one was about 10 to 12 foot across and about 4 foot tall.

After years of hanging in the showroom collecting dust, we came up with the plan to hang a chain hoist for moving the chandelier up and down for service, and then having a dead-hang cable installed when it's in it's resting place. We also had the electric to the chandelier redone. After several days of planning, building some custom parts, we had the rigging team go in and start installing the custom rigging parts. When done, the chandelier came down to the ground. This was a great day. Years of dust sitting there will now be gone.

The timing was Great for this rigging project. At this time, production was putting in a new show which involved new sets, speakers, redo the fly system for lighting and new lighting equipment. Working with the great house crew, In-House Production supplied the extra crews to install this new show. In-House Production had, Carpenters, Lighting Tech, Audio Tech, Video Tech, Riggers and Loaders.

Load-in was fun. Most stages you work at have the load-in door on the ground level. Not this place. You unload the truck, push the sets down a long walkway to a chain hoist, hook your sets to the chain hoist and pull it up along the wall for about 30 feet. No Large Service Elevator here. Rolling cases go down a long hall to the service elevator. This service elevator is the size of a large people elevator. Great for cases and small items that roll, but not sets. From ground to stage is about 10 minutes if the elevator is working.

At the end of the day, everyone was happy. The load in went great, the showroom was able to clean their chandelier, new carpets, new seats down front and production had a great show. It was a very good day.

DOLLIES WITH-OUT GLASS

One of our new builds are "CHICAGO BEAM CLAMPS". What is a CHICAGO BEAM CLAMP you ask. This is one of those 3" channel with an eye-bolt in the center, Slip Resistant Notches and Clamp Tabs that go over the Flange of the I-Beam. You have seen them, you have used them, We have a NAME for them, "CHICAGO BEAM CLAMPS". Royle came up with a great name for the beam clamps, and you heard it here first. We did not design them, We MADE THEM BETTER. Look for Photos in our Next Blog.

NEW PIPE GRID FOR LIGHTING

BUILDING AND INSTALLING THIS LIGHTING 1-1/2" PIPE GRID.                      It was great working with Jim Reid with JR Lighting. JR Lighting gave In-House Production a call to supply and install this      1-1/2" pipe grid used to hang Lighting Instruments from for a new room in the news studio. After the site survey, In-House Production came up with what would be needed to accomplish this project. Custom Steel Brackets, 1/4" Aircraft Cable, Shackles, Pipe Hangers, 1-1/2" Schedule 40 Black Pipe and T Clamps to Bolt the Cross Pipes Together. Parts.

After meeting Jim with JR Lighting and the Studios Project Manager Mark, I let both know, hanging this Grid in this designated space was no problem. This is what In-House Production does. All we need was 2 days and a clear floor to hang this Grid. I then let Jim know I had the perfect crew to install this grid and Jim knew the both of them. Jim's Brother and Nephew.

If you know of the JR's (Reid's), you will have guessed there were 3 JR's involved with this project. Jim Reid went into Lighting, Joe Reid went into Rigging and Joe's son followed his dad and became a Rigger too. As you look at the photo, you will see Joe and Joe.  The first Joe with the long sleeves in the photo is Jim's Brother and the other Joe is Joe's son. So we have Joe Reid and Joe Reid installing the grid and Jim Reid with JR Lighting asking In-House Production to do this job. In-House Production does Rigging.

You would think, JR would wear In-House Production shirts on the job, but no, they had on JR Lighting shirts. Take a close look. JR's wearing JR Lighting shirts. It fit. JR Lighting Rigging job done by In-House Production.

NEED A PIPE GRID, NEED A LIGHTING GRID, GIVE IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION A CALL AT 702-631-4748 OR EMAIL US AT: INFO@IHPLABOR.COM.
